As the summer break approaches, the museums of all types, huge and grand, small and kind, splendid or warm, like the colorful art museums, long-standing historical museums, fascinating science museums, natural museums, and amusing theme museums gradually become the good sightseeing places for the visitors to tour Beijing or travel China.

China National Film Museum, a place to experience how to shoot a movie
Despite a little bit remoteness, the China National Film Museum has become famed for its biggest IMAX screen. It was constructed for four floors and contains 20 exhibition halls, one of which called The Course of Chinese Film in One Hundred Year displays the classical movie clips as well as posters and stills, while another one of which uncovers how to film. The visitors can try to act in some characteristic and interactive activities like the creation of a digital effect, dubbing and taking a scene.

Apart from the film-related exhibitions, here the price of IMAX film is cheaper than in urban Beijing, more so for membership card holders.

Beijing Baigongfang Handicraft Museum, a place to assemble traditional Chinese royal artistic treasures
Baigongfang is the common name of site of manufacturing palace craftworks in ancient time, serving as a center to show the variety of traditional Chinese handicraft and artwork as well as experience its workmanship. Apart from enjoying the essences of traditional royal art - jade carving, ivory carving, Cloisonne production, lacquer engraving, filigree inlaying, Peking Embroidery and more. On the site, the watchers can view at least 30 handicraftsmen's performances in manufacturing dough figurine, clay figurine, glassware, inside-bottle painting, paper-cut, dark-red enameled pottery, wood carving, etc.

Transportation: taking Bus 8, 34, 35, 36, 41, 561, 686, 687, 707, 750 and 957 to the Guangminglou Station, and then walking westwards for 150 meters, or by subway Line 2 to the Chongwenmen Station, Line 5 to East Tiantan Gate, Line 10 to the Jinsong Station, and then transferring buses to Longtan Lake.
