The Airfare of First Class from Shanghai to Beijing Get Adjusted

Recently, Civil Aviation Administration of China and National Development and Reform Commission notified that the prices of the first class and business class of the civil domestic airline would be adjusted according to the market. Previously, the airfares were fixed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The rate of first class is up 15% of the full fare of tourist class, and the one of business class is up 30%.

According to Air China, among the adjusted ticket prices of 43 domestic airlines, the airfares of the two classes on business flights from Beijing to Shanghai, Shenzhen or Guangzhou may be as high as 230% of the full fare of tourist class. This is first airline to officially announce the adjustment on the first class and the business class since the notification was released.

And then, another three airlines also declared the adjustment. China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines announced to change the prices of the two classes. Their regular prices of the first class on the flight from Shanghai to Beijing are up 150% of the tourist class's, and the regular prices of the first class on the flight from Shanghai to any cities are up 100% of the tourist class's. Other domestic flights' regular prices of first class are as high as 180% of the tourist class's regular prices. Moreover, Shenzhen Airlines made adjustment as well.

The golden airline affecting largely the market in Zhejiang Province is the Shanghai-Beijing one, on which the airfare of the first class regulated by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines are as high as 250% of the tourist class while according to Air China, the price is as high as 230% of the tourist class. Since middle July, the new airfare has been released. For example, on July 17, China Eastern Airlines' first class of flight from Shanghai to Beijing will cost CNY 2830, Shanghai Airlines CNY 2830, Air China CNY 2600, Hainan Airlines CNY 1700, and China Southern Airlines CNY 1700.

Although the airfare is improved, some airlines promote the discount of first class. The discounted price may be only as high as the one of the tourist class.
